ISLE OF WIGHT STUDIO SCHOOL
On the weekend, 13th December 2014, The Studio School in East Cowes opened their gates to the community. This community open day allowed the public to take a look inside the beloved building and get a feel to the modern idea of a Studio School. Our Yule Ball was held at Albert Cottage on 16th December.
Students and staff turned up in their finery to enjoy celebrating a fantastic first term together.
We had the fantastic services of Mr Howe as our DJ and it was awesome to see how pupils enjoyed themselves in a completely appropriate way.
At times every single pupil (and the teachers!) were on the dance floor - well done Caitli

On Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th December we were pleased to host Rob Moore of Moore Effective Solutions leading us in the Humberside Engineering Training Association's (HETA's) SuperGrid Schools Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) activity.
Supergrid is an engaging and stimulating hands on activity day set in the context of the offshore wind energy industry.

Three Studio School students have won a clean sweep of the Isle of Wight Literary Festival Spoken Word Awards.
Arife Sen-White, Melodie McClean and Louise Baker won gold, silver and bronze respectively in the Spoken Word competition, which was open to all 14-16 year olds in Island secondary schools.

With just a few days to go before the Island's new Studio School in East Cowes opens its doors for the first time, final work to upgrade the former primary school building on Grange Road is continuing.
The school opens on 9 September and will work with local businesses and employers to offer academic instruction side-by-side with workplace experience.
