The winter term enrichment options are fully underway at the IOW Studio School and students are making waves in their chosen fields. Yesterday our mixed team of 20 rugby enthusiasts braved the cold temperatures at Queensgate astroturf under the expert tuition of Richard Freeman. Some outstanding play was seen all round. We have had a great start to 2015 at IOW Studio School with a number of external trips to enrich learning.
All pupils visited VESTAS to continue their learning around the area of renewable energy and more work will follow on the maths and science of wind turbines and energy.

On the weekend, 13th December 2014, The Studio School in East Cowes opened their gates to the community. This community open day allowed the public to take a look inside the beloved building and get a feel to the modern idea of a Studio School. Our Yule Ball was held at Albert Cottage on 16th December.
Students and staff turned up in their finery to enjoy celebrating a fantastic first term together.
We had the fantastic services of Mr Howe as our DJ and it was awesome to see how pupils enjoyed themselves in a completely appropriate way.

On Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th December we were pleased to host Rob Moore of Moore Effective Solutions leading us in the Humberside Engineering Training Association's (HETA's) SuperGrid Schools Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) activity.
Supergrid is an engaging and stimulating hands on activity day set in the context of the offshore wind energy industry.
